Well this sucks, I changed it back to AHCI to reload Windows 7 and Linux from XP and now my BIOS is corrupted. I tried the recovery steps but it is not working. Removed battery/power cable then I removed the CMOS battery. I put the battery back in. On a flash drive I put the BIOS on a flash drive(see below for layout of the flash drive) and plugged it in the laptop. Held Win+b plugged the power in. Waited a few secs and powered on the laptop.

EDIT: The flash drive is named HP_TOOLS

You need to split original bios into .sig and unscrambled .bin files then copy them into current and previous folders.

Do you have a tutorial on how to do this?

*EDIT* never mind, I found out how. I used phoenixtool and renamed 0143F.BIN.DEC to 0143F.BIN and RSA.SIG to 0143F.SIG and it worked.

hi im new to this forum, was looking for a fine bios for my dv6-3156sg and found this thread.. i flashed the mod bios and all options now available, but i can not save on exit.

is there a way to fix this prob? if you camiloml have some free time left to help me out it would be very great many thanks in advance !

ps: im not so often online but if camiloml like to post a file i will try it out and report back if it works on the dv6-3156sg.. best regards
