Phoenix Bios Unlock Request Packard Bell LX86
#1
Hi, Bios-Mods Community.
I'm looking for a way to unlock all possible settings on my BIOS.
It's a Phoenix SecureCore™ Bios v1.14.
I'm very much interested in settings such as overclock settings for my i7 740QM built inside.

Bios Download Link

Thanks forward, Heart

Hi,

Bios unlock didn't work for me. I tried your 32 bit Version, ended up with "Cannot find Driver"
Downloaded 64 bit Version Winphlash: Now it want's to start flash, but ends up with Bluescreen at the very start.
Bluescreen displays PhlashNT.sys

I also tried a DOS Version for Phoenix called Phlash16. Ended up with freeze or restart.
It flashes with the Packard Bell Bios File, but it won't with your modded one.

Could you tell me which options are unlocked? Especially interested in disabling Hyperthreating (HT)
and CPU/RAM, Settings/Timings.

Thanks for any further help.

so , you flash with the original bios.wph file and the phlash16 and it flashed successfully .............. but when you flashed the modified bios.wph file it freeze .
Ok , i will check the modified bios file again and upload a new one in a few hours .

the unlocked new tab is called intel and contains cpu menu , ich menu , mch menus , thermal menu and alot of options .

After lot of troubleshooting I found the problem.

It was a outdated version of Winsplash.

Downloaded a newer version and it worked flawless.
I still have one more question: Are there any more hidden settings for the CPU?
Would've been interested in such as overclock settings.

Thank you soo much btw. Heart

so , you have flashed the modified bios and it worked well .
nice to hear that Smile

can you please upload some pics for the bios to let me knew if all options are unlocked or not as your bios can`t be opened in the emulation tool .
after you upload the pics , i will be able to tell you if there is more options or not .
thank you .

i see that you have the option to manually set the memory frequency and the QPI frequency .
changing the QPI frequency will overclock your cpu .

also , the overclocking options might not work on the non-extreme cpu .
i think this is all the options available in your bios and its alot of options and menus as your notebook is for high end users Wink
Thanks for confirming,

Moved to unlocked /mod

Hi, Offtopic
I still have a question,

Do you think it's possible to insert a i7 940XM extreme processor into this laptop,
since I had the Bios Settings for Extreme CPU.

My System:

- i7 740QM (idle temps: 35°C; max temp (prime 95, stress test, 6 hours) 71°C
- HD 5870M GDDR5 (max temp around 75°C)
- 8 GB RAM DDR3-1333

Tjunction = 100°C on both.
My system temps seems pretty fine, so I though about this upgrade. My friend bricked his Laptop and remains this processor. Chance to buy it pretty cheap around 200$ Big Grin. I'm kinda scared to build in. If the CPU isn't supported can anything happen to it?

Just wondering, If I could just try to build in.

Thanks forward, will be donating soon..
