Hello,
Please if anyone can help me, I have an Acer V3-571-6652 and the default processor is an i3 2370M (Sandy Brigde), I bought a i7 3612QM (Ivy Brigde) to update it because I have the HM77 chipset.

But after making the switch, the notebook connects but nothing happens (no video, no boot) and after 1 minute the cooler off. Returning the i3 2370M notebook starts normally. TDP is 35W for both (intel).

I think it's due to the microcode BIOS... down his information:

Model: Aspire V3-571-6652
BIOS Version: 1.13.
Last BIOS Acer: http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/...ER&SC=PA_3
OS: Windows 7 Home Basic x64
Chipset is updated with the latest driver (by Intel Update)

Last microcode update Intel (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchR...rodId=3168)

Is it possible to unlock the BIOS in order to use the processor?

My notebook has this processor: i7 3612QM.
Thus came from the factory.
I believe that updating the bios already resolved.

You which BIOS version?

I'm using the latest website (v1.13) and is not recognized (it starts but shuts off after). I thought the upgrade would be common as I did on my Lenovo SL400 (look it is compatible with the chipset), because my BIOS is equal to its correct?

Thanks for the reply!

I read in some forum that all acer aspire v3 has the same bios. (not sure because I used the modification of this forum and have not had success with my notebook)
From what I I analyzed in the acer site exists several bios updates on the site.
If I do not mistake me the version of my bios was 1.17, I will try to confirm it and post it here for you.

Edit:

Version of my Bios: 2.07
All notebook acer aspire v3 use the same bios. I have reports from other models with the same bios.

I see many problems with this bios.
I need to revive my notebook to back testing purposes, but I have no experience with electronics.
As soon as I find a way to fix my laptop I searched a way to redo this bios, and will create a post with a version that not problems.
The storage memory of this bios is very small, I put a bios with a larger storage size, possible?

I was looking on changing the microcode, and found this tutorial... (http://donovan6000.blogspot.com.br/2013/...codes.html) follow everything but do not know whether to go right (includes i7 3612QM CPUID in BIOS 1.13), I am afraid to upgrade and something happens with the notebook. Someone more experienced could take a look and see if realized right tutorial?

BIOS Modified: https://www.sendspace.com/file/6bn61v

Thank you.

Edit: I just look in the BIOS 2:07 (Windows 8) and 2.17 (Windows 8) and 2:07 only to the CPU 2370M ID, but in 2:17 is in the CPU both ID (i3 2370M and i7 3612QM), then enter it in 1:13 it may work right? Or would have to upgrade to Windows 8 or use a partition with Windows 8 for the processor to be recognized?
