I had to send my Acer in for repairs. Acer Support flashed a yet unreleased Bios V1.23 on my machine. I ran the Universal Bios Backup again:

P.S. Flash from Windows so use fptw (x32) or fptw64 (x34) . . .
Unpack the Bios Mod and copy the "modified" folder into C: HD root place !
Then open Command Promt with Admin Rights (CLI window C:\) and
execute these comands from CLI window :

cd \

cd modified

fptw -f bios.bin -bios

(or fptw64 for Windows x64)

when i try to flash the bios i get the following error message:
Quote:Error 28: Protected Range Registers are currently set by BIOS, preventing flash access.
Please contact the target system BIOS vendor for an option to disable Protected Range Registers.

Ok try to follow instructions and flash from an USB Stick in Pure DOS !
When Boot from USB then in C:\ execute Flash.bat !
Let me know
Regards

P.S. if You get error 28 again try Sleep Bug !

Now We have to see if Sleep Bug is Activate yet !
So put your laptop into Sleep Mode (just close the Lid) and then Wacke-Up It
(reopen the Lid), then redo the result files (I hope last time !)
