I disabled something relating to a graphics device in the BIOS and I'm pretty sure i just disabled my screen! I reflashed what you gave me and its all fixed now, though.

Hi, everyone

I own an Inspiron 15R SE 7520. I'm in need of encrypting my mSATA SSD, but I can't access this hardware feature because the BIOS doesn't allow me to set an ATA password for it, only for the SATA HDD. I set the password through the use of hdparm on linux, but the BIOS doesn't prompt me for it, rendering it useless as it keeps locked.

Does unlocking the BIOS unlock this feature? I don't want to use software encryption because of the wear it has on SSDs.

The BIOS version (A11) I have installed:

http://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER02059783M/1/7520A11.exe

Thanks

Your bios rewrite protected so we can try to flash mod in Recovery mode.
Follow next steps
1.Prepare USB drive and format it in FAT32.
2.Make 3 copies of QCL01X64 and rename it in QCL01X64.bin,QCL01X64.rom,QCL01X64.fd.
3.Put it in root of USB drive's directory.
4.Dettach AC adapter and battery.
5.Attach USB drive and press continuously button END.
6.Attach AC adapter and after 5 sec press Power button (End button still pressing)
7.USB drive will be blinking so pressing END can be stopped.
8.Be patient for some time, BIOS will be recovery and laptop automatically shut down.
Here is your recovery file-mod
