Sorry, I didn't mean to derail the thread.

I'm beginning to suspect that the issue with the laptop I have isn't a bad BIOS, but perhaps related to the fact that it has a Q15M (engineering sample) CPU in it. Maybe the original BIOS didn't mind, but production BIOS doesn't work with this chip?

I may see about getting a different G2 CPU to swap out and see if this is the problem.

I did try flashing the provided 8MB image, but the behavior is still the same. The laptop doesn't stay powered on long enough to do anything at all.

If it is possible can some oen with the master skuills blease unlock any missing/removed options in this bios.

F.20 (yes its not the latest but the F.22 and F26 bioses causes Sata 3 disks to run forced in Sata 2 mode, so it really slows down SSD's)

The bios can be located here

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/Tec...5-1&mode=3

IT would be great if the ability for switchable GFX could be unlocked some how, as well as more cpu settings, all we have right now is turning on VT-X and Virtualization I/O

thank you!!

Hello, David!
If your dGPU is dead, you need bring laptop to repair service to disable dead videochip.
This procedure called modification to UMA (requires change resistor location).
It is cheap solution in your case,if you do not want recover discrete graphics.
Servicemen know about this repair solution, however they often replace mb with new chip (remember there is another solution which described above).
Regards!
