hello good day. i got a free hp today

cleaned it well and it's running nicely but it has a wifi whitelist so my bluetooth+wifi card isnt working in it.

i have attached the latest bios for the

EliteBook 8740w



my laptop isn't running the latest bios as of right now but i know for sure updating isn't gonna magically remove the lock



i've tried looking for a bare rom file. but i can only get my hands on the exe installer for the bios.

i think hp does have a dos bios updater though?


the laptop seems to be UEFI. altho not sure if its Full UEFI or partial UEFI like some other hp laptops.


meanwhile while we are add it.. would it be possible to remove the worn battery error that shows up every boot reminding me the battery is critically worn out?

ps i heard something about this laptop being impossible to bios mod/flash? can anyone confirm if thats the case
