[REQUEST] HP Pavilion dm4-2000 & dm4-2100 series Whitelist Removal

3 minutes for THAT file? Wow! I hate that ISP's keep finding ways to [censored] people. You have to pay out the [censored], just to get any decent upload speeds.

Lol, off topic, but the upload speeds at my new apartment are terrible. That file took about 3 minutes Undecided

Is there something that I am doing wrong? I'm trying to apply this BIOS over and over, and it tells me it can't downgrade. That is a very odd statement, because I even downgraded my bios to F.13, so that F.14 would be an upgrade. Anyways, this is what I'm getting. If you want me to pay first, and get some money to you, please let me know. I don't want you working, and not being paid anything.

I installed this under a fresh version of Windows 7 Home Premium, and I ran the install as Administrator.

Please let me know what you need me to do, financially, and physically.

Paying first for bios mods is something I will never require. That goes against many of my morals Cool

This is just another error that occasionally need to be bypassed. It's not that common, so I usually don't patch the code for it. I'll upload a new version to test soon.

Alright, new ones up. Same URL as before, or you can get it here Big Grin

Lol, so I guess there's just a lot of traffic on my apartment’s network around 9pm - 12am. Those times seem to be the worse for download/upload. Atleast it's free internet Rolleyes

Donovan has sone new version Bios Mod, bt to downgrade (just to knowkedge)
You have to use Recovery Mode :

1. Decrypt original Bios file and get xxxxx.Dec.bin + RSA.sig
2. Download "HP Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) Support Environment" for your laptop model from the HP website and prepare an USB Stick.
3. Rename xxxxx.Dec.bin as Recovery name You get by PMTool
4. use Recovery Pocedure and laptop will get Bios into USB Stick

Example :

HP Insyde UEFI BIOS RECOVERY

Laptop comes with Windows 7:
This is the general process I use to flash my BIOS updates on my HP laptops as none of them run Windows. This also is the most-correct BIOS recovery procedure.

Tested on G7-1277DX

Find the "HP Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) Support Environment" for your laptop model from the HP website.
Execute this under windows and create a HP_TOOLS UEFI boot usb stick.
If you can, on your laptop find the "System Board ID" in the bios. (should be a number)
Obtain the latest BIOS update for your laptop
Run phoenixtool on the bios you wish to recover.
(If you have multiple .bin files, pick the one with the number closest to the number of "System Board ID" )
You will get two files from phoenixtool...
- RSA.SIG
- F.bin.DEC
Place both of these files on the usb stick at Hewlett-Packard/Bios/Current
- RSA.SIG -> .SIG
- F.bin.DEC -> .BIN
For example:
- 03453F12.bin.DEC -> 03453.BIN
- RSA.SIG -> 03453.SIG
Shut down your laptop, plug the USB stick, hold win + B and power on.
Wait for the system bios to flash.

This USB stick also gives you access to the "System Recovery" feature in the bios if you erased the UEFI partition.

I tried this last night. Upon reboot, it does what it did before (the previous attempt). The Caps key just flashes, and it won't boot. I can recover by using a "Spiderman" Flash drive (Not kidding), with the standard recovery process. The 3 flashes correspond to "a corrupt bios". What do we try next, go back one version of BIOS, and attempt it with that version? Is there something we can test with this version, using different options? I'm not really sure where to go from here.

I guess that specific version incoporates the RSA signature verification check(s). We'll just have to try an older version.

Not sure what I can do to help, but when this is done, I'd love to learn from you. If even just to help with this site. I've been working in the computer field for ages and ages, and I'm fairly quick at picking things up.

I also have a couple great resources for you. People you'd probably love to talk to, and pick their brains.

This is the next version back. We were trying F.14, here is F.13.

Dang it. Same thing. BIOS just hangs forever. Caps flashing 3 times.

I assume this means F.12 or bust?
