[REQUEST] Lenovo Flex 2 Pro 15 (A9CNxxWW) Whitelist Removal
#11
Update. Finally got the tools and time to attempt repair. Tried using ch341 programmer on windows 10 preview in a virtualbox vm running on top of Linux, however it wouldn't give consistent reads. Found that there is a tool to use under Linux: https://github.com/setarcos/ch341prog
I read the chip three times and got the same result. Of the 8m file the last 6m matched the file posted by sovem exactly. So I took the first 2m and appended the file I originally uploaded, wrote chip and now it boots again!

Found I had actually purchased the wrong size WiFi card so maybe will have another go at replacing again soon. Laptop is now upgraded to windows 10 so want to see if the original WiFi card is any more stable now or continues to drop connection.

Hi,

I'd like to remove the WiFi whitelist on my Lenovo Flex 2 Pro 15, BIOS version A9CN61WW (I believe the download for the BIOS file is here: https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mob...cn61ww.exe), KBC version A9EC32WW. Looking at upgrading from the provided Broadcom BCM43142 to something like a Intel 7260ac. I've tried running the Universal BIOS Backup v2.0 tool (as administrator) but I'm met with a "Can not identify the BIOS !" error. If anybody could provide me some direction on the next step to take that would be appreciated!

Cheers.

Hello,
can I ask for whitelist removal in bios A9CN61WW of my Lenovo Flex 2 Pro 15 80K8 (broadwell i5-5200U processor)?
Bios is original so it is the same as on https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/pl/pl/produ...s/DS101359.
You completely remove wifi card checking in bios, so it will be possible to put any non-levovo wifi card - is that right?

Do I have to donate you in some way? If yes, don't hesitate to write. I would have other two lenovos to crack (flex 2-15 and yoga 3-14).
If it is possible, I will be glad to learn how to remove whitelist myself in order not to disturb you and spend your time Smile
Thanx in advance, opacik

Hi
Your bios chip is rewrite protected
Bios mod can be flashed using SPI-programmer+SOIC8 clip only

In matter of flex 2 pro 15 I'm waiting for SPI-programmer+SOIC8 clip delivery.

Can I ask for whitelist-free bios for my second computer Lenovo Yoga 3-14 version 80JH, BIOS BACNA0WW?

Current BIOS load, dumped by BIOS_Backup_TooKit.EXE: https://www.sendspace.com/file/gvf235

Regards and thanx in advance.

Hi
first use SPI-programmer+SOIC8 clip and make bios dump!

Dudu2002,
Why again do I have to use SPI-programmer+SOIC8 clip instead of just using BIOS_Backup_TooKit.EXE to backup BIOS?
Is my lenovo yoga 3-14 the next model of lenovo where only SPi programmer tool can backup the BIOS?

software dump is different from hardware dump!

Dudu2002,
I don't quite understand the situation, so would you be kind and explain to me (and to all of us newbie greenhorns Smile on this thread) in short words, why do I have to use only SPI programmer tool in this situation instead of (for example) BIOS_Backup_TooKit.EXE?
What is a difference between hardware BIOS dump and software BIOS dump?
Is it connected with fact that I'd like to have completely new whitelist-free BIOS instead of new BIOS accepting just one specific model of non-lenovo card?
If no, so what is the reason to use only SPI programmer in this situation?

Hello,
I obtained spi programmer+clip and made dumps.

HW BIOS dump result for lenovo yoga 3-14:
https://www.sendspace.com/file/u9xofz

HW BIOS dump result for lenovo flex 2 pro:
https://www.sendspace.com/file/ev0dcs

I believe I had to send *.bin files, not *.hex (program had possibility to write in both formats).
I kindly ask for mods.
