I'm having some trouble doing this and wanted to see if anyone has some advice. I've read through these posts and read the instructions on how to hook up the EEPROM programmer. I picked up a CH341a and the SOIC8 clip and I think I have them hooked up correctly but it isn't reading the chip. I am trying to remove the whitelist from an Ideapad Yoga 13, as well as removing the SVP from an X1 Carbon. Could anyone provide advice as to how these components should be connected? For example, which pin on the clip hooks into where on the CH341a? Also, does the motherboard need to be plugged into power for this to work?

Sorry for the double post. I think I figured out how to attach the clip properly, but it still isn't reading the chip. Does the motherboard need power? Otherwise I'm thinking it may be a driver issue...

Thanks BDMaster! I'm not sure what I changed, but now I got it to recognize the chips. I have an X1 Carbon, not positive which generation, that I need the SVP (supervisor password) removed. Should I start a new thread or can I request it here? There are two chips right next to each other on this board: an MX25L3205D and an MX25L6406E. I believe that I need to flash the one that's 32. I've uploaded the dump here: http://rghost.net/6RG4yRqlB - if it's the 64, that is uploaded here: http://rghost.net/6XDCLyD6X. I'll take apart the Ideapad Yoga 13 tomorrow to get that dump to remove the whitelist from there.

Thanks BD... donation sent. I'm having trouble with this though. I flashed the chip with that file, it said that it took it okay, but it's still saying "0199 System Security - Security password retry count exceeded." Is there anything else that needs to be changed on here?

Ok friend,
I used your Bios to patch It about NWL as You wrote to me in PM for more laptops !
Now I will rebuild your Firmware and Patch It so You will get a Pure Firmware !
Then let me know if You get the 0199 issue again !

Thanks BD, that's amazing - this worked perfectly!

Lastly, I dumped the firmware for the Ideapad Yoga 13. It's here: http://rghost.net/7gbc2FyHR

Could you remove the whitelist on here? Also, before you do this, are you able to confirm that it seems like a valid dump? I've discovered that the clip that I've been using is really finicky and I want to make sure that I got the whole file.

Another donation on its way soon...
