in my case, I was unable to flash bios because of an error

Error 28: Protected Range Registers are currently set by BIOS, preventing flash access.
Please contact the target system BIOS vendor for an option to disable Protected Range Registers.

I googled a lot but it seems there is no workaround for this protected bios versions of lenovo

Bios mod can be flashed using SPI-programmer+SOIC8 clip only

Trying not to create a new thread on the issue but looks like this one is pretty dead. I've never done this before, but I managed to find some software that would read and let me save the firmware. Hopefully someone knows how to modify this file to remove the whitelist. If anyone can verify that I did this correctly, I'd appreciate it! Here's the link:

Thanks for the reply. What would cause the dump to be wrong? I downloaded the stock bin file and compared the two and to my eyes, they looked identical. I also pulled it twice and the files looked identical. I'm using the ch341a and the bios chip is w25Q64fvsig.
