[REQUEST] Lenovo Thinkpad Twist S230u (GDETxxWW) Whitelist Removal
#21
Anyone?????
find

#22
I want to build a new WiFi ac adapter in my thinkpad. Could you remove the whitelist from the bios? Or, if that is too much work, add the ac adapter to the whitelist.

I'm also planing to replace the 3G WWAN adapter with a new LTE/4G adapter. The Device Manager points it out as USB (see below), but it's definitely connected via miniPCIe connector. Do you now if this second slot is also restricted?

-Manufacturer: Lenovo
-Model: ThinkPad Twist S230u
-Motherboard Model: 334728G, Win8 STD DPK TPG; Ivy Bridge + HM77
-Bios revision: 1.66
-Bios Type: Phoenix SecureCore Tiano
-Bios Download Link: http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub...s/gduj18us.exe
-Current original card (like): Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 2230
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0888&SUBSYS_42628086&REV_C4\4&3A8 23452&0&00E1
-Another Card that afterwards should still be working: H5321 gw Mobile Broadband Driver
USB\VID_0BDB&PID_1926&REV_0000&MI_06&OS_NT&WWAN\8& F62DC35&0&01
-Card to be added (like): Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_08B1&SUBSYS_40708086&REV_73\4&3A8 23452&0&00E1

All older requests for the Twist seemed to be old and dead.
Thank you very much for any help!
Yours, Bommelu

I've managed to make a backup of the current bios with PHOENIX UEFI WinFlash 1.5.66.0.
I hope that helps for something: https://www.dropbox.com/s/gcf0puxijtsuy4....66%29.rom
Is there any particular reason why my bios is especially complicated?

The first tool seemed to me to cause errors.
So I tried in advance the next tool you suggested to robotcoup for his Lenovo B580. ( http://rghost.net/54932530 )
The Output is attached.

Hi friend,
create an USB Dos Formatted Bootable Fat32 :

http://rghost.net/54967124

and copy all files from "modified" folder, then reboot from USB and run flash.bat (follow instructions into ReadMe file) :

http://rghost.net/54960326

Are you sure you put the right flash tool in the archive?
I made a bootable dos stick (wasn't that easy to find one with less than 4 GB space ; ) and copied the content of the modified folder in its root directory.
After that I rebooted and chose to boot from USB.
I got the dos command line screen and typed "flash.bat"+ENTER to run the batch.
The output is attached.
Due to the red 104 error I didn't press enter when prompted. I feared otherwise I would maybe brick my laptop.

Yes that's fparts.txt Eeprom settings definitions !
Your Eeprom are not present into fparts, so You get error 104.
Ok copy and replace original fparts.txt file with this :

;
