Panasonic CF-D1 MK3 Advanced settings unlock
#11
Thanks.

Sadly, no luck. tried multiple times to set 0x3E to 0x0 but flashing fails because of the write protection.

This method is no any problem ,you need to disable "bios lock" then you would reflash via fpt.
Below is bios lock variable in this bios. you need set it to 0x0(disabled).
BIOS Lock, VarStoreInfo (VarOffset/VarName): 0x3E
Disabled, Value (8 bit): 0x0
Enabled, Value (8 bit): 0x1

Check whether you have any wrong commands keyin on grub shell.

setup_var Setup 0x3E 0x0

Thanks for all you help. But after setting 0x3E to 0x0 and exiting GRUB, I boot straightaway to windows without rebooting but fpt still fails. Do you think it can be done with afiefix64 from the GRUB prompt?

1. Don't to consider use afu seriess tools while you want to flash a modifed bios ,it almost can't success write.
2. Your grub screenshots is defferent with normal and why don't you reboot then going to windows again?
3. Or you could try ru.efi to changes variable ,visit this thread and navigate to 2.2 - CREATING BOOTABLE PENDRIVE WITH RU ~2.4 - BOOTING RU AND BASIC USAGE ,learn how to use it to edit address 0x3E TO 0x0.

After many tries, even trying running an EFI Shell and running afuefix64, managed to set 0x3E permanently to 0x0 and flash the UEFI with FPT. As you said, no SATA3 option in there.

Hi. I have a Panasonic CF-D1 MK3 which has been such a good pc for me, practicality wise.

The only issue I have, and I would love to solve it is that it's locked to SATA - 2 speeds and I would like SATA - 3.

I know this chipset is capable of SATA - 3 and I know various other Toughbooks can be unlocked by a simple bios mod. The only thing is I cant find anything about SATA - 3 in the UEFI Flags.

I'm willing to pay for someone who can figure this out for me.

My BIOS version is V3.00L23.

Let me know what I need to send.

Regards.
