Hi All,

I am new to the forum and this is the first time I have considered a BIOS Mod. I have an old laptop that I wanted to breathe new life into (Subject device) and I want to give it a new lease of life. I am upping the RAM to its maximum 4GB, Replacing the CPU with a dual core, and an SSD, but I wanted to see if there were any new features or benefits that could be brought in by a custom BIOS.

Is there such a firmware in existance on the group that is compatible (I searched the model number but was unable to find one), or is it something that can be easily built? or is BIOS modding not quite so simple?

Hello everybody!
I am looking for an unlocked BIOS version 1.50 for my TOSHIBA Satellite L300 laptop.
Unfortunately, I can't download the BIOS from the official dynabook website because my device is no longer supported, but I found it on an unofficial website (see attachment). Here it is.

I know there is a theme on this site with this laptop (https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-R...5-Slic-2-1 ), but the link to the file does not work in this thread anymore (possibly outdated). I would be glad if someone could help me with finding an unlocked BIOS for my laptop.

Thank you all in advance!

Does not work.
BIOS flashed, and then my laptop rebooted, then it showed a black screen and rebooted again, and then finally rebooted for the 3rd third time and loaded the operating system normally, but BIOS version remained old (1.50). I breathed a sigh of relief because I thought that my laptop would no longer turn on, but fortunately, I was lucky.

In a little more detail:
BIOS firmware started (started on behalf of the administrator), charging from the laptop was connected, battery charge = 100%;
BIOS started flashing, indicating that BIOS version on the device is "1.50", and the new one is "1.60";
After the firmware, the laptop rebooted and showed a black screen, but the devices were initialized (DVD drive made some noise), and the screen is still black;
Another reboot, this time the initialization of the devices also took place, but the company logo appeared and I was able to enter in BIOS (version 1.50) by pressing the "F2" key;
I rebooted my laptop and after that the operating system booted successfully.

Something like that. Ideas?
I also noticed that in the file "readme.txt " it is said that my laptop does not support this BIOS (1.60), but the firmware still started. It's all strange...

Don't enter in BIOS after start BIOS update. Wait for BIOS updating after "the company logo appeared".
But I don't think that B00daW made unlocking mod...

OK, I'll try again, following your advice, but let's say it's not an unlocked BIOS... OK, I'll try this method once again and write here what happened

I'm new here, so I only have 20 MB of attachments to use.
I will post here a video that I shot trying to flash my laptop again using this BIOS (https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-U...Unofficial).

I have an idea why this is happening, but... Okay, I'll say it. I found the file "readme.txt", and it says that my laptop is incompatible with this unofficial BIOS. There is a Satellite L300-ST2501 as compatible, but my laptop is a Satellite L300-PSLB0E, so that means I have no support and this BIOS cannot be flashed into my laptop. So with this BIOS, I'm in flight, and even more so after reading the post at this link (https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-U...Unofficial) I found out that this is not an unlocked BIOS at all, but only a newer version taken from nowhere (maybe it didn't exist at all and the BIOS was written by fans). This BIOS simply has a built-in support of newer processors compatible with the laptops sockets specified in the file "readme.txt". I have an Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 processor and I don't need to update the BIOS to a newer version because everything works fine anyway.

All I need is to find the unlocked BIOS that is already here (https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-R...5-Slic-2-1 ) and which even already has a link (https://www.box.com/s/jtngg16h6614ocfmvtla ), but apparently there is no such file now, since when trying to go to this link, an error is written that the file is not found or it is not available to me (but most likely the first option more truthfully). That's it, I don't need anything more.

Something like that

Make BIOS backup after "updating to 1.60" by any method, e.g. by Universal BIOS Backup Toolkit 2.0.

I think that it was SLIC mod only.
