[Request] Bios support for Intel D865GSA
#1
Good afternoon.
I have an Intel D865GSA socket 775, chipset Intel 865G, and would like your help to mod it to support Pentium Dual-Core like wolfdale or allendale. More about to use more efficient processors rather than speed.
Thanks to the great list from vogons, "LGA 775 Motherboards with AGP Slots", read that the AsRock 775i65G (R2.0 and 3.0) can support those processors.
Thanks for any response and have an excellent day.

Can you supply us with a backup BIOS image using this tool?

Code:
https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/universal_bios_backup_toolkit.html

Intel use a weird file format in their distributed BIOS updates like the one you have attached.

This motherboard has old VRM10. It's hardware incompatible with Conroe.
But you can use Pentium D - https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/...oards.html

Thanks for your help and suggestion.
Saw the compatibilty list, but wanted something that was less hot to the poor stock heatsink, and consume less energy

Then read about special hardware mod - https://www.google.com/search?q=VRM10+Conroe

Oh, thats why i didn't find information (only typed vrm10)
So to not go offtopic: In theory, the motherboard would detect the processor if I do the mod?

Well, time to find an 800mhz bus processor and try it. What could go wrong?

No. Besides a hardware mod you need to find similar motherboard with necessary support of Conroe. Then dump BIOS from it by a hardware programmer and flash it into yours.

Sorry for not replying, had some troubles.

Thanks for all your help. Looks like only this model from intel uses the Intel 865G AND socket 775 (others similar are socket 478). So now to try to find the less hot processor for this model.

Do I close the topic or something?
