[Request] HP Probook 6470b whitelist removal.
#1
Hello

I got a old HP Probook 6470b recently and want to install eGPU with the mini-pcie.

However, due to the whitelist, the system can't be started up once the eGPU is connected to laptop. Hence want to have the whitelist removed.

  Make: HP
  Model: Probook 6470b
Bios version: F.64 Rev.A   and released at 16 May 2016
Original WIFI adapter: Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 AGN 2x2 HMC WiFi Adapter PCI

  Link to bios download: http://h30318.www3.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp...p76006.exe

Thanks in advance.

That series of notebooks no longer has a whitelist.

Your startup issue relates to the BIOS not knowing what to do when it sees the eGPU on bootup, so use the eGPU adapter delay switches to hide the eGPU from BIOS on bootup. More eGPU discussion and resource info is on TechInferno.

So the latest Bios upgrade doesn't have a whitelist?

Confirmed to have a whitelist, shows an error 703 when plugging in a wifi card not within the whitelist.
Another request for the same laptop has already been made, but it's pretty old and I didn't want to bump. Nvm, mods moved thread as a reply,,,
Another user said that the whitelist has been removed, but it 100% has not been, even with the latest version of the bios.
The bios can be found here: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp96001-9...p96091.exe
It has been confirmed that the whitelist breaks compatibility with exp gdc mPCIE, and that's what I'm having trouble with.
BIOS name: sp96091
Original wifi card: bcm943228
