I was not aware of the above list of models when I started this thread (inadequate research) and this is the same request as this other, and the 2 threads probably should be consolidated into one - http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-Re...anced-Menu

I believe the bios is RSA signed as I found a file named CERTIFICATE when the above download .exe file is extracted.

Attached are screenshots of of bios setup Main menu (bios1.jpg) and VT enable/disable under Advanced menu (bios2.jpg). Bios version is R0230Z8. InsydeH2O Setup Utility is version 3.5

I have not yet updated to the latest version, thinking that upgrading to an unlocked version is perhaps easier.

Don't hold your hopes too high. InsydeH2O bios from Sony is probably a tough nut to crack. Just look at the number of successful cases (less than a handful) in the "Unlocked Insyde Bios" forum.

There are also more and more vendors going Insyde, so the gurus here have their hands full.

I wish the gurus would write up some tutorials on their tools and methods, so some of us can at least do some leg work for them, even if we are not technically capable of going all the way.

I think it will not happen. Most likely technically impossible to do.

If you go to the unlocked Insyde Bios thread, you will find maybe one, maximum two unlocked Sony bios, a really small number compared with other brands.

I suppose Sony did its job really well.

Lesson learnt - I will never buy a Sony notebook ever again.
