I'd like to have updates on this thread! I have a Vostro 3250 too (the whole unit for less than $30), and I made a retro gaming + media center with it. It's nice and smooth up to Wii, but for Wii U sometimes difficult on heavy games. I was wondering if switching to a i5 7600 would improve, because they also cost like $20-$25.

However, I didn't know that stock BIOS was unable to accept 7th, despite having the chipset H110 on the motherboard...

You can try to flash BIOS for Vostro 3268 by a hardware programmer.
