Request for Memory no memory detected error be removed on Dell C6320P(Phi x200) Bios
#1
Wink
[Request] for Memory "no memory detected error" to be removed on Dell C6320P(Phi x200) Bios that's done during the boot process.

The PHI processor has 16 GB of built-in ram, only on the Dell do you need or complains about ram being needed. I have Intel SN7200AP and SuperMirco's Phi systems that don't require the extra ram. So I know it's possible to boot the OS using only the CPU and onboard ram.

Alright. Someone is going to ask for BIOS dump eventually. If you know how to do that, attatch one. If not ----------->

1.) Go to Terminal (on your C6320P)
2.) Depending on your version of linux, type either
- "sudo apt-get install flashrom"
- "sudo yum install flashrom"
- "pacman -S flashrom"
The list goes on and on. Apt-get is the most common, try that first.
Once you're done, reply done.

@H@cK_T7910 . Instead of using flashrom, I think it would be easiest for you to use dmidecode. Type into your terminal "sudo apt-get install dmidecode" Once it is finished, type "dmidecode | less" Post your results here.

I have the hdr from the bios update. If anyone is able to assist, I will help pay. Either by removing the DIMM requirement or Memory Optimizer mode. Please Post here.

Yes, but still it's necesary to find a way to flash BIOS back.
I think I can help removing this message on boot. But having linux on board only complicates things. I do not believe in flashrom functionality. Therefore, could you create windows live cd/usb and use it only for a while? If to you it sounds like an awkward decision to do, please find a working way to write a modified BIOS in the enviroment of the system you are using.
