SAPPHIRE 890GX2 code PC-AM3RS890G2 HP SLIC 2.1 mod
#1

Hi !

This is my first SLIC mod on an AMI BIOS, I just made it now and checked on one of my PCs.

Since it is not available on the net and should work for two different mobo (Jetway - real manufacturer of the board - and Sapphire, at the moment only Sapphire confirmed) I decided to attach it to this message.

Here are the details :

SLIC mod 2.1 made with AMITOOL V. 1.6.2.0 /MMTOOL V3.0.0.0 utilizing HP-COMPAQ SLIC 2.1

Board : SAPPHIRE Pure Cross Fire X 890GX Board (code PC-AM3RS890G2)
http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?cid=2&gid=361&sgid=362&pid=1090&psn=&lid=1&leg=0

Real manufacturer : Jetway, Board code BA-500PRO1
http://www.jetway.com.tw/jw/motherboard_view.asp?productid=762&proname=BA-500PRO1

Base Bios : latest on Sapphire site, G289S002.ROM dated 02/16/2011 http://eu2.sapphiretech.com/archive/gm/d...50.ROM.zip

Archive contains both Bios and HP certificate.

NOTE : confirmed only on Sapphire board, mod made as proof of concept only, use / flash it at your own risk and only if you understand what you're doing and why.

Here below the instruction taken from a post of 1234s282

1234s282 Wrote:1. Copy and paste ******.XRM-MS certificate file into C-Drive.

2. After pasting this file into C-Drive, go to START - ALL PROGRAMS - ACCESSORIES - COMMAND PROMPT. Right click on Command Prompt and RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR.

3. When Command Prompt opens, type at the prompt: slmgr.vbs -ilc c:\********.xrm-ms and hit the Enter Button. Wait for the Script Host to answer you with a message that the license was installed successfully....this could take a few minutes and so be patient.

4. After receiving the message that the license was installed successfully, type at the command prompt:

slmgr.vbs -ipk *****-*****-*****-*****-***** (Replace with any OEM SLP Product Key for your installed version of Windows 7 , they are not hard to find).Be Patient and wait for the message to say that the Product Key was sucessfully installed. After it says successfully installed, reboot the computer.

5. When you are back at your desktop, go to START - COMPUTER - right click on Computer and choose PROPERTIES and see if it is activated with an OEM product ID.

Please Report Back With Whether It Worked Or Not!

Cheers

:-D

UPDATE : to solve stability issue with my 2x4GB Corsair PC 1600 DD3 kit, I've decided to crossflash to latest Jetway Bios, more recent than latest Sapphire Bios (released on May 2011 against Febrary 2011).

It worked perfectly, so I had produced a SLIC 2.1. version of it, still using same method and same HP certificate.

Remember to use te /x switch to crossflash from Sapphire to Jetway and vice versa, else BIOS manufacture check will avoid BIOS update to occur.

Remember also that this mod is, likte the previous, just a proof of concept.
use / flash it at your own risk and only if you understand what you're doing and why.

Code:
SLIC mod 2.1 made with AMITOOL V. 1.6.2.0 /MMTOOL V3.0.0.0 utilizing SS3 approach and HP-COMPAQ SLIC 2.1

Board : SAPPHIRE Pure Cross Fire X 890GX Board (code PC-AM3RS890G2)
http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?cid=2&gid=361&sgid=362&pid=1090&psn=&lid=1&leg=0

Real manufacturer : Jetway, Board code BA-500PRO1
http://www.jetway.com.tw/jw/motherboard_view.asp?productid=762&proname=BA-500PRO1

Base Bios : latest DOS on JetWay site, version A5, file 500P1A05.ROM dated 12 May 2011
http://www.jetway.org.uk/downloads/bios/500P1A05.zip

Motivation : achieve better compatibity and stability with Memory module than with more old Sapphire Bios, expecially 2X4gb Modules 1600 MHz.

Archive contains both unmodified and modified Jetway Bioses, DOS flash program, BAT flashing commands, readme files and HP certificate.

To CROSSflash use AFUDOS with the /x switch.

To easily crossflash use enclosed SLIC.bat for slicmod BIOS or JETWAY.bat for original Jetway BIOS.

NOTE : confirmed only on Sapphire board, mod made as proof of concept only, use / flash it at your own risk and only if you understand what you're doing and why.
