[SOLVED] E8400 in D2840 motherboard
#1
Hello everyone,

I have a Fujitsu D2840 mobo with the latest BIOS, and an E8400 CPU. Every time I try to boot up the system I get the "no microcode update loaded for booting processor" error. I have little to no knowledge in anything BIOS related so I'm stuck here. I found out on other forums that I need to update the microcode, but I have no idea how to do that. I found a tutorial here, but I'm hesitant to try it as I don't want to mess it up.

Here is the tutorial: https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-T...ode-Update
Is it a viable fix or is there anything else I can do? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Also if I try to get into windows in safety mode(or whatever it's called) I get BSOD saying "multiprocessor_configuration_not_supported"

Post screenshots of first (CPU) & third (Mainboard) tabs of CPU-Z with supported CPU.
Tell sSpec of your E8400.

Sorry for the format, but I have no idea how to insert images here.

Reflash BIOS 6.00.1.06 with your E8400 installed.

Sorry if it's a noob question, but is it safe to flash the BIOS if I can't even get into the BIOS properly with the E8400 installed?

Well, please make BIOS backup by Universal BIOS Backup ToolKit 2.0 with supported CPU.

The solution was indeed to flash the BIOS with the E8400 installed. Anyone with the same problem, you need to download the latest BIOS from Fujitsu's website, you need the USB stick version, follow the instructions of the program and with the new CPU installed flash the BIOS from the USB drive. Simple as that. Thank you DeathBringer again for your help Smile
