Slic 2.1 Request IBM thinkpad t42

slic 2.1 request

Original Bios: http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/...uj37us.exe

Here you go , i used Lenovo 2.1 SLIC + Certificate Included:-

1. Copy and paste ******.XRM-MS certificate file into C-Drive.

2. After pasting this file into C-Drive, go to START - ALL PROGRAMS - ACCESSORIES - COMMAND PROMPT. Right click on Command Prompt and RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR.

3. When Command Prompt opens, type at the prompt: slmgr.vbs -ilc c:\********.xrm-ms and hit the Enter Button. Wait for the Script Host to answer you with a message that the license was installed successfully....this could take a few minutes and so be patient.

4. After receiving the message that the license was installed successfully, type at the command prompt:

slmgr.vbs -ipk *****-*****-*****-*****-***** (Replace with any OEM SLP Product Key for your installed version of Windows 7 , they are not hard to find).Be Patient and wait for the message to say that the Product Key was successfully installed. After it says successfully installed, reboot the computer.

5. When you are back at your desktop, go to START - COMPUTER - right click on Computer and choose PROPERTIES and see if it is activated with an OEM product ID.

I download the mod but it doesnt seem to be the same as the original bios flash. There was an exe file that I would launch to flash it before. Now it seems to be asking for a boot disk

Admin can you try doing this one again? I was not able to flash the bios. The original bios was an .EXE file. Now it is asking to create a bootable floppy disk. The laptop doesnt even come with a floppy drive!

My mod is basically the files that get extracted out of the Exe when you run it

Are you trying to flash from windows or DOS? Make a bootable DOS USB/CD/DVD and boot/flash from that

Flashing from Windows is more risky and not possible right now as i need to work out how to get it to flash the right file using the bios update program (Which is why i modded the DOS floppy Image in the first place)

I am getting so abort, retry, fail error. Is there anyway you can convert it back to an .exe file? The original bios is .exe file and flashes fine from windows. It should work fine if we just turn it the moded bios back to an executable

So can you try one more time modding the original bios but keeping it as a ".exe" instead of turning it into a bootable disc

OK slight change of plan

It cannot be repacked into exe because the original rom is 810kb and the modded one automatically goes to 1MB (Lenovo have a special compressed format)

When you run the exe , files get extracted , a program runs and flashes the DOS IMG (but from windows) which contains the 810kb bios rom. Because its a disk image its only 1,44mb in size and when the modded file is made its 1mb and therefore wont fit on the disk image.

Last thing to try : http://dl.dropbox.com/u/747181/IBM%20Thi...34s282.zip

Just run winphlash! (As administrator , use right click!)
