With the 2GB of RAM installed, could you run Speccy? This will allow me to see your current system specs and check if the RAM upgrade was compatible or not.
1.) Download Speccy.
2.) Launch Speccy.
3.) After Speccy loads all of the information about your computer go to File>'Save as Text File'.
4.) Send me a copy of the text file.
Also, could you tell me what the model of the RAM you purchased was (the 4GB)? You could also just tell me the DDR specification, memory clock, number of modules, etc.
