Stuck at F.02 Insyde BIOS - can't upgrade with higher version!
#1
Hello,
I have HP Envy 14 Notebook 1015tx, and I'm stuck at F.02 BIOS, no matter which higher version BIOS, I try to install - BIOS doesn't upgrade! Therefore, I'm stuck at F.02 version of Insyde BIOS.
Also, F.02 version doesn't detect battery level properly and always shows 0%, so I'm stuck with working but *dead* battery, which gives no backup!

Can anyone suggest any solution to this problem? What are my options now?

Here's is the link to the discussion I started at hp website:

BIOS discussion at HP website

Also, can I use "cabextract" to extract the ".bin" file from .exe file and then forcefully upgrade the BIOS?

Hi friend,
two ways :

Donovan Modded Bios or HP Recovery Mode (to downgarde or Upgrade)

Here for Donovan Bios sp55493, try it :

http://donovan6000.blogspot.it/2013/12/m...itory.html

http://www.mediafire.com/download/nax1qq...p55493.zip

Here for HP Recovery Mode (last chance) :

http://donovan6000.blogspot.it/2013/06/i...overy.html

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softw...6375#N2674

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp51001-51500/sp51327.exe

You have to unpack your bios file .exe by 7vZip and get this folder sp55493 and into thee will be your bios file 01436.bin !

Use PMTool as described from Donovan to open you bios and get .DEC and RSA.SIG files, here You go :

http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads...EFI-BIOSes

When You'll get your HP USB Recvery UEFI copy your bios DEC and RSA.SIG into and try o upgrade !
Good Luck Wink

P.S. here your Recovery Files ready to be copied into USB !

Hello BDMaster!
I now upgraded BIOS to F.26 successfully using the recovery method! But, the "battery" problem is not solved!
Now, I am getting "No battery detected!" message!

Why is the laptop's battery not getting detected?

Why is the laptop's battery not getting detected?

I rebooted and now I'm getting message -
"0% available, plugged in - not charging!"

Is the battery dead? I've used this laptop for only ~3years.
