Try to use Phenom I with Albatron KI690-AM2

Hi folks,

I found this interesting site while I was searching for informations, how to mod the BIOS for my mini-ITX Board KI690-AM2. It´s an AWARD BIOS (1.07)

I thougth that might be a good idea to upgrade to Phenom I, but the BIOS won`t boot.

I´m afraid the BIOS Chip capacity is just only at 4MBit.

Does anyone know how to mod this BIOS?

:O! Strange , your bios doesnt appear to have any visible microcode in it , but the AGESA module was way out of date which would also contribute to phenom not working

Ive updated it to v3.7.0.0 which supports phenoms

Try at your own risk , theres a big chance il have to do microcodes too except i cant find them - feel free to test though if you dont mind taking the risk!

Hi,

so, it took a little time for me getting further on my problem.

At first let me thank you for your effort trying to help in this matter.

After all the same problem exists with a Phenom I and a X2 5000+ (45nm Deneb Core).

It seems to be a problem to recognise the processor to set the correct Vcore.

If there are any further hints or tips getting this problem solved, I will appreciate this, because I try to build a cluster out of ten of this boards.
So it makes more sense using quadcore cpu instead of dualcores.
