(UEFI) Dell XPS 15z L511z modded BIOS - and HOWTO

Hi.
Does anyone of you know if it´s possible to boot an GUID partition with the latest modded bios, and if any settings under advances settings needs tweaking.

2) Under Windows, download latest BIOS update from DELL. Run it, and copy the BIOS1.WPH file from your temp folder just before you press "Cancel" to flash your BIOS

so, as far I understood, you sucesfully unlocked the menus on your bios right?

its just that the modded bios got some issues loading some modules.

I would say those 0xE status are some kind of error code relating incorrect checksums or somewhere.

I would try to repeat the procedure and check if you are missing something, srry if I cant be more helpfull :/

well, not sure why jkbuha didnt included the flasher in the package, maybe he wanted to make the package light in size.

well, to flash the bios you will need

the flasher

then put the modded BIOS1.WPH file and flash it with the flasher

then you will doesnt need to download the original latest dell update and locate the temp folder.

just download the flasher I added and flash the modded wph file

@kurt - Not easy mate. I cannot boot GPT partitions by default on my machine. You need to enable UEFI bios, and try a bootloader such as CloverEFI on a USB stick (formatted in GPT not MBR) first to see if it works.

yeah, you dont need to follow the whole guide if you have a xps 15z^^

download the flasher and the modded bios file ,then running those parameters would be nice

winflash.exe /BIOS /EC /SA /SV /BBL "BIOS1_GT525M_UV.WPH"

Sorry mate am away from home again this weekend and can only log into one forum at a time with my new phone.

I changed the PayPal account to your details but it's telling me that your account is restricted do you know why?

The other alternative would be to use my uk based PayPal a/c but that would mean closing the current campaign as we'd need to donate in pounds not euro.
