If I understand you correctly you have flashed a Dell BIOS onto your CCE machine? This won't allow Dell-propitiatory modules such as DellVariable (which stores NVRAM variables .. when you change bios settings and such) .. to work properly. Or if you just integrated the PlatformSetupAdvancedModule from 15z into your CCE then this setup module expects DellVariable module to store NVRAM data.. which you don't have and can't have actually .. so nothing can be stored properly. Menus are just a markup tables ..

@jkbuha mine will take some time to process (possibly more than 2 days) because it was withdrawn from my visa, so it has to be processed by paypal and my bank .. which takes twice the time :<

however make sure you are flashing it to a compatible 15z machine, flashing incorrect bioses to another machine will brick it!

is this normal?

paypal froze my account and put it under 'observation'. I've changed/updated the necessary passwords so hopefully all should be fixed soon. This shouldn't stop anyone else from sending funds because its just due to my account being changed from yesterday's transaction.

kasar - pledgie incurs a 3% fee that is sent back to the organiser, ie: 3eur out of every 100eur will be sent back to the organiser. at least you didn't have to incur it twice (like i did!)

yes mizy, but as i've told others before, unless you know exactly what you're doing please be very careful as you may brick your laptop.

what did you flashed exactly to what hardware?

the bios at the first topic is only compatible with the 15z (L511Z)

mmm, well, I had once that beeping issue.

to fix it I had to take appart the machine and remove the optical drive and battery, then plugged again the battery, powered it on, shut it down a,plugged again the optical drive and it worked fine.


if it still acting like that , then it is bricked and you will need the recovery method mentionated at the first post.

not sure if jkbuha made a bios recovery cdrom for the 15z based on the one I made for the xps15 (l502x)

if there isnt any avalible bios recovery cdrom for the 15z , I can try creating one tonight.
