Way to test a modded BIOS before flashing?

Does anyone know of a simple way to test a modded BIOS before flashing it? What I'm looking for is a way to verify that the mods I added to a BIOS image will actually show up as options in the BIOS menu, and that the new image won't brick the computer. THANKS!

(Ideally I want something like a VM program that would allow me to boot the modded BIOS...)

afaik, that is not possible because all the mainboard components had to be in a default/uninitialized state.
if it is possible to remove the bios rom chip from your mainboard and you are comfortable with it, you can buy a spare bios chip and hotflash it which you can fallback to if there is a problem. trust me, it helped me a lot and i'm a relative newbie with less than a year experience in bios modding.
