Yoga 3 11 white list removal request
#1
Hi I would like to get my bios updated to remove the white list restriction. I am converting my Yoga 3 11 to use Arch Linux and Arch is not compatible with the Qual Comm Killer AC Wifi card. Instead I am going to install an Intel AC Wifi card.

Hi I had to reinstall windows to run those tools.

The Backup_Tools12 program ran successfully - results.rar attached.

Universal Bios backup indicated that the bios could not be found (even in admin mode), but I was able to export the bios after I selected 64K from the menu. Results attached as Yoga311.rom.

Thanks,
Eric

Donate to me . . . look into my Signature Wink

P.S: if You get error then try the Sleep Bug !

So unpack the Bios Mod file then copy modified folder into C: HD root place !
Then open a Comand Prompt with Admin Rights (CLI) and run this comands :

cd \

cd C:\modified

Then put the laptop into SLEEP mode and WAKE-UP It again so run these comand

fptw -f bios.bin -bios

(for win7 x64 use fptw64)
and look the result, You have to get PASSED after wote Bios.bin, then let me know !

Hi BDMaster,

Thx for the quick response.

I tried this but have a few questions, can I run flash.bat directly from Windows 8.1 via administrative cmd prompt?

Screen shot of errors attached.

Thanks again,
E

I have solved this for now by swapping my wifi card out of my lenovo edge 15 (which is a 3160 AC dual band) and put it in my yoga 3 and the yoga 3 liked it.

I put the Intel 7265 into the Lenovo Edge 15 and it accepted the card - appears the Lenovo edge 15 doesn't have a white list ??? I bought the Lenovo Edge 15 from best buy.
