You can give this a try:

Attached Files
.rar   M630A_modd.rar (Size: 423.85 KB / Downloads: 57)

| A Bit IP35-Pro | E8400 | GTS 250 | Gskill 2x2GB DDR2 | 500GB + 320GB + 1TB | CM EP+ 460W |
| Win XP Pro x86 | Windows 7 Ultimate x86 | LinuxMint |

CA50, can you explain what did you do? As ToxAtec wrote menu is already enabled but still not visible. I made a conclusion that it is a firmware logic and can't be enabled by just manipulating of menu items.

nothing much, found some hidden sata setting under the Imtegrated Peripheral>Onboard PCI so enabled those

Hi - Does anyone have an alternate link to the BIOS file provided by CA50? I cannot download the attachment in the post above.

I did download the beta file modded by ToxAtec, but I don't think it enabled AHCI on my IP35-E. I had an XP install and it booted fine after a flash with that file. I figured it would have stop-blued 0x7 out on the boot if I changed the controller mode. Also, I was trying to hackintosh the board and I am getting a "still waiting for root" error on install which many have reported due to AHCI not enabled in the BIOS.

So, it is just a guess that AHCI mode is still not enabled on my board. Cannot know for sure, but would like to try CA50's mod.

Thanks.

Did you reset your CMOS after flashing? That's the only reason I could think of. If you did, do it again Tongue

edit: I don't have any problem with the attachment Huh . I could send you a copy if you PM me though, if that's ok for CA50.. I don't think he cares if I do?!

(I also added a missing "f" Dodgy)

The attachment is working for us as well. We did though host it as a mirror on our Dropbox servers if you are having problems.

Additionally, can someone update the thread for this board in the unlocked section for other users.

Thanks,
TheWiz

ToxAtec - I did not reset my BIOS after flashing! That may be the issue - I will try that - thank you!

Wiz - I found the download problem. It was with my own firewall. For some reason it wants to scan or block rar files. I need to fix that. Thank you for looking into it.

I have the file and will flash and reset my BIOS! Thanks for your help, both.

Sorry to dig up this old thread! but did this actually work? I too have the same board (ip35e bios18)and want to hackintosh it and have the same error (waiting for root device) which I belive is due to no AHCI support in the bios.

I can't speak for drake3, but I think it should work. I got one PM from someone who had AHCI working with the mod, and it looks like noone bricked his mainboard using my modded bios so far. It should reliably work if you clear your CMOS after flashing, using the jumper next to the first PCI slot. Entering the BIOS setup and loading the default values should result in the same..

I once came across a forum thread about mac os x on the IP35-E. It assumes IDE mode and has a workaround or so. Maybe that helps if my mod fails.

Good luck Smile

Is it possible to perform this mod for the Abit IP35P, too ?
Latest Bios is here :
http://www.file-upload.net/download-3287...3.bin.html

It would be great to have AHCI enabled with this board.
