anyone could help me to mod a AMI BIOS to support AMD 6CORE CPU?
#1
the motherboard is J&W 750A SLI

NVIDAI 750A CHIPEST

the newest bios from official website is as attachment ,it only support AM3 cpu with a very old agesa.that is only C2 stepping is supported

the mob is very good for it's cpu moset, 140W TDP Supported,so i really hope to make it run with 6 core

the mob shares the same bios with XFX 750a sli

but both of them do not have a official 6core cpu bios.

I managed to add the microcpu code to the newest extracted from ASUS

besides,I also add the slic2.1 to the bios

But I can't add agesa and else to fufill it.

anyone could help with it?

thanks a lot!

yes we still have some progress to make in AMI AGESA upgrades because the AGESa is integrated into the main bios module :S

When we make some progress we shall make it widely known Smile

thx for the reply

good news here

I asked J&W engineer,he is very kind that gave me a moded bios with the lastest agesa

He said is will support 6core now,i haven't got any 6core yet,so didn't test it.

but the problem arise again.

this moded bios do not have AHCI support, while the raid mode is also not usable(the screen will freeze after raid bios display, stop at "checking NVRAM 00A1).

other bugs relate to the NVCC function(to unlock core) is omitted.
boot sequence can't be modified. debug led doesn't function well

the engineer said he won't help me more since the board is not longer produced.([censored],i just bought it for 1month)

can you please help me fix the ahci and raid problem first since it seems easier

the engineer said he delete the ahci function is because the core will over its limit,i don't know what he said. maybe he is saying that the capacity of the 1MB BIOS is not enough for ahci option rom.

maybe we can delete some old cpu micro code to free the space for ahci

don't know if it will work or not

thank you

OK Would you be wiling to test a few bioses for me?

Read the recovery info first on the main bios-mods.com site.

Im going to attempt the impossible Tongue - Upgrading AGESA within the 1B module of an AMI Bios!

AGESA in the old bios was version v3.3.2.3 and the onethat the engineer gave you had v3.7.1.1 which is whats added the support!

Try this mod at your own risk! this is still an extremely risky process and not a lot is known about it although i would appreciate someone to test!

recently,I found a new bios from XFX

because XFX 750A SLI MOB has the same design as J&W 750A(actually it is produced by j&w,even the bios),this bios has less bug then original J&W BIOS i posted before with agesa 3.3.2.5.

If your mod works, could please apply your mod to this bios since i decide to use this bios

thank you very much

I am flashing the new moded bios now, bless me!

bad news come here

the bios can't boot

besides,i find that the bios setting has been changed a lot and wired,I don't know if it is because something wrong or you've modify it.

after changing the settings to default using AMIBCP,it can't boot either.

I think it may caused by slic mod, because the slic tool modify the 1B moudle.

so you may try to mod the the bios without slic mod,the above xfx.rom hasn't been moded with slic

can you please try this again.

thank you so much

I'd make sure to revert to a stable BIOS until we can look at the new ROM. Do you have contact info for the J&W engineer you can PM me?

this xfx.rom is the stablest one i've found.

if you can mod the agesa, please try this one.

here is the engineer's contact info, it's shown on its website

neil.tang@jwele.com.cn

but the problem is that he didn't show any more interests in talking about this bios because he said this mb is end of support.

but TheWiz, I think you are the person who can let him speak, haha

thank you
