Bad news - so I've deleted my work.
Flash native BIOS and try to make system booting with changing BIOS options. Disconnect all cables & boards from motherboard except graphic card & ps/2 keyboard. Try disable everything in BIOS.

not sure why I should this.

My board is still working up to OS layer with your modified bios having  the Q6600 cpu installed.

You can do it without flashing BIOS. Try to find the reason for problem with Q9650. it isn't microcodes.

With native bios 3.04 the Q9650 isn't correct detected but POST completes and system is starting booting.
During windows 10 boot the system freeze.

With ESC bios for G31T-M the Q9650 is correct detected and system is able to boot without any problem. Unfortunetely
the fan speed is at 100% as the rpm sensor is not detected, the onboard beeper is without function and 1394 controller isn't
working properly.

With the modified bios the POST hang with q Q9650 cpu installed.

I found another OEM (by ECS) motherboard that looks like yours. It's EG31M from Acer Veriton M265 and it supports Q9650.
EG31M BIOS has the same Image Information module with G31T-M2 BIOS. And differ from G31T-M and G31T-M5 BIOS'es. G31T-LM BIOS has other size.

I've done new mod of your BIOS with newer (but not latest) microcodes version A07 (04/09/2008). This version is used in G31T-M & EG31M BIOS'es

tried out your new mod unfortunetely same result.

                    B U T

Flashed afterwards the Acer EG31M bios and that works perfect. CPU Q9650 is correct detected, windows is booting w/o any problem and all devices including the fan
are working as expected. Additonally the overclocking funcion is visible now, I'm happy :-)

Tried only stereo out and that works also. Not sure if left and right is twisted or it has been wrong connected. But this isn't a real issue ;-)
Btw: My G31T-M2 has also 6 audio connectors.

Hi!
I do an Upgrade from Intel CPU E2140 to E8500.
I have same problem like Zwierbel but in my case, the CPU with problem is E8500. With default bios is not reconize. with bios update from ECS website is reconize but CPU Fan run at full speed - 4200 rpm and don't show the RPM in bio HW Monitor.
I instaled the Acer EG31T M bios like him and work fine everything.

Single problem is ACER OemLogo. I try to change it with MMTool but I can't able to open the BMP Image. I try in windows xp and 7 and I try with 3-4 differnt Bios Roms and same problem.

Somebody help me?
