pentium dual core 5200 on nForce4 XE (Ecs c19-a SLI)
#1
Hi everybody on Bios-Mods,

I am newbie in Your forum. First post!
So to the question... Will You, please help me with modding the BIOS for Ecs C19-a SLI, so it can support Pentium dual core e5200 (Wolfdale) and let's say Q6600. I have tried it myself with extracting ncpucode with cbrom182 from another mo/bo bios (Gigabyte x48), but... no luck.
The ncpucode.bin that I've extracted is only 33kb in size and the original is 133kb.

Please HELP. I will be very grateful if You provide me with sime assistance.

You probably extracted in in compressed form or it is an earlier version of the patch code possibly. if using mmtool it gives you the option to extract in rom from or uncompressed. that's assuming you have an ami bios. if not I'm not really for sure.

By requesting, downloading, and flashing a modified

to do with it. flash at your own risk! And please
remember to let us know if our mods work for you!

Do you have the v1.0A or the v2.0 version of the board?

This will be printed on the board itself

Please post a link to the bios download and also a link to a similar board that DOES support the Cpu your after and we can try to switch the microcodes Smile

Since this was posted we have made progress in this department and can probably get a working mod. We will post more information soon.

Hi. I did not want to create a new topic, so I will ask here. I have a motherboard "Ecs nforce 570 slit-a 5.1". It supports older processors (e6300, e4300 e2180 ...). Pentium e5300 did not work with this motherboard. Can you help me? Sorry for bad English.

Interesting observation - No nForce 4 / nForce 4 SLI board seems to support any Pentium Dual Core CPU's apart from the low end E2160 and E2180 CPU's.

Higher Core 2 Duo's like the models mentioned by dm54 above also work. I've patched together some microcode out of another board that supports the E5200.

Try the below fileat your own risk , instructions are included.

Let me know how you go!
