Think Ive Found My Real Motherboard
#1
I think i might have found where my motherboard originated from, can someone please check these 3 Rom Files and tell me if any of the first 2 match the last one

Attached Files
.rom   978A1014.ROM (Size: 1 MB / Downloads: 4)
.rom   P7P55D-DELUXE-ASUS-1702.ROM (Size: 2 MB / Downloads: 3)
.rom   P7P55-LX-ASUS-1003.ROM (Size: 2 MB / Downloads: 3)

They wont "match" because they are all different

You can try flashing one of the others onto your board but it would be very risky and have a high chance of bricking the motherboard!

Theres no way we can tell if its going to work or not - you just have to decide whether the risk is worth taking

Oh ok well my theory behind it came from a Intel Chipset Driver, when i typed in the particular chipset driver my acer needed with its version number in google i got these asus results, the rom thats named with numbers is the one ive currently flashed, and i was just wondering how would i be able to find out if my motherboard was really a rebranded asus or one of the 2MB roms i posted since they were the results that came up.

I dont think ill be randomly flashing any roms anytime soon, unless there is a 100% form of recovery for a brick, which i dont believe there is, am i right?

Lol, did anyone run a diff report to see just how close they were? the 100% recovery method is purchasing a spare BIOS chip.

Big Grin Thats what i meant, i want someone to identify through a difference report how close any of those are to my mobo, i really am getting the feeling that acer has used and modified a different branded Asus Motherboard.

Well I looked into this some more, and while its likely because that's what they do all the time, both of the images you are comparing to the first are 2MB images, and yours is only 1MB, so they wouldn't flash anyways becuse your BIOS chip is too small. I reccommend posting a full list to all the similar boards ou can find so I can help you out on this.

Thanks again,
