No rush, whenever is okay. Wink lol, all this talk of overclocking has reminded me that I should try and improve my P8400 position on hwbot which has now slipped to 4th for CPUz.

If you would check those tabs on the BIOS setup page too. The backup is so I can check the NV storage. Changes to that will leave the BIOS itself untouched while hopefully opening up some more options. What software do you use for flashing?

What does Huh

Hopefully some of the AMI guys will be able to point you in the right direction for flashing. In the meantime you could try rweverything as previously mentioned or maybe download AFLASH2 3.04, which is on the Asus support site under Bios Utilities download for the G73JW, and try it under real DOS.

AFLASH2 /DUMP:Backup.bin

tried this and it kept saying something about file not found.

That's strange, you did do it by booting to real DOS right. I've never used it myself but would have thought that would work. There must be some AMI users who have used this and could help shed some light on it.

I'll have a look at some of the other versions later on and see if I can work out what I need to know from them but it's very important that you have a backup for yourself and find out what the crisis recovery method is.

And if you would please answer the question earlier as to which setup menus (tabs) appear on your system BIOS setup utility, ie Main, Advanced, Security... etc. Thanks.

Thanks Johnksss. The reason for asking is if the main menu tabs above do not appear then trying to enable the sub menus for them is a lot harder.
