same problem here but with the A11 bios. Bios SLIC 2.1 flashed successfully 3 months ago and now it's back to 2.0 and nothing was installed because its not a machine i frequently use. Tried to reflash the modded bios using both winphlash and phlash17 but same. I've modded the original bios with the phoenix tool (and checked it with SLIC toolkit to make sure it is 2.1), flashed it and same SLIC 2.0 was reported. I've reflash the original and then the modified one same problem.

NOTE: Every time I flash the SLIC 2.1 bios, the system reboots alone (i think it's normal) but when it comes to boot the hdd or a CD it reboots again which doesn't seem normal. After this second reboot the hdd or CD boots normally but the BIOS is back to SLIC 2.0

Perhaps this sheds some light on the problem... because it seems that the modded bios is crashing and the system is reverting to the backup bios.

Any idea would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

Ok i couldnt wait so i flashed using 1537 SLIC 2.1 v5 file.
It worked and verified with slic toolkit 3.2 but i have to ask this,
When I open with slic toolkit i get "There are 2 slic tables in the
XSDT BIOS"" The current slic table is NO:1"
Select the next slic table? Yes or No
i opened both and they seem to be the same. Am I good to go?

this one tested and works (version A11). Dell Studio 1537.rar

First flash the original one (included in the rar file) then flash the modded one. Use the included WinPhlash to flash.

Hi saiet,

Same here but managed to solve it. make sure to follow the following instructions.

  1. Rearm windows using the following command in an elevated command prompt. More details here

    Code:
    slmgr -rearm

  2. Flash the original BIOS. Here is the link to a Dell Studio 1537.rar file which includes both the original A11 BIOS and the modded SLP 2.1 one. Just run WinPhlash.exe included in 1537_A11_orig.rar after extracting the contents
  3. After flashing the original BIOS the system reboots. After it boots again flash the modded BIOS  which is included in the above mentioned download. Just run WinPhlash.exe included in 1537_A11_mod.rar after extracting the contents.
  4. After system reboots, the SLP is back to 2.1
Cheers Smile
