[Request] ASUS X99-WS/IPMI PCIe Slot Bifurcation
#11
Okay, I've managed to get my hands on some WinPE distro and yes, I can confirm IOU1 seems to be the correct one to chose for Slot 2 BIF, seems like setting it to x4x4x4x4 does not work but I think this is because I am trying to use such bifurcation while having 4 PCIe slots occupied, from what I see all ports are locked to x8 so I'm gonna try to get x4x4 working on two slots and that will be it. I will report back.

https://imgur.com/a/mBeDDmm

EDIT 1: I've set a Slot 2 to x4x4x8, no difference, only one nvme drive visible - funny thing is, the detected NVMe drive changes with every boot, once it is a drive installed in Slot 1 of the card, the other time it's the drive from Slot 2.

I unfortunately don't see a x4x4 setting of Slot 2, I will the NVMe card to Slot 3 since that one can be bifurcated into x4x4 according to IntelRC menu.

Maybe it causued by the quick switches which some of the slots are connected through?

Well, I can't fix this, and the situation is disappointing.

I think it's because of the NVMe card that I have. However bifurcation seems to work.
I'm gonna try one more thing because I just noticed something after switching around cards, GPU all of a sudden got a x16 link, I will switch around ports, GPU will go to Slot 5 and NVMe Card will go to slot 3.

Okay, I can confirm this is a problem with my NVMe card, it's some cheap-a** chinese one with ASM chip that just doesn't care if you have bifurcation enabled or not. It just doesn't work properly from what I see. Bios mod itself is great, It does work, I can manage bifurcation from the BIOS. from Where I stand You helped me a ton. I will contact you via DMs.
