[Removed] lenovo y 570 whitelist removal request
#1
hello,
again, sorry for using the wrong forum first. so i try this again. i'd like the whitelist removed in my Y570. the bios version is currently 47CN28W 2.06 (latest) which i hope will not create a problem when flashing.

thanks for any help on this matter

i do too. i'm sure it will be working just fine. however now i'm running into the version issue and the flasher won't let me update. can i use the .bin file in your self extractor and use the bios recovery method described in this forum (boot from usb stick) or is there a better of doing it?
once i have it up i will let if it works.

cheers

Unzip this file and use this flasher http://www.mediafire.com/?mp9u7cf0me4vd9s and rename your bios to bios.fd and put it in the same folder as the flasher then run the InysdeFlash.exe file. That should work, if not the DOS method works but is a PITA.

DOS method:

Also I had to force a downgrade prior to having a working flash, you may have to as well.
Use this to roll back:

Thanks wildbill,
i tried the first method and it did write something - however it didn't seem to have actually updated the bios as the wl was still active. i downgraded using the file you linked and then flashed again using the original file provided by camiloml.
DONE AND DUSTED Big Grin. everything works fine. unlocked bios w/ all options and w/o whitelist.
thanks camiloml. i guess the file can move over into the "confirmed" category.

cheers

You do great work, the y470/y570 community is in your debt.
