Sony Vaio VGN-NR110E unlock, modded hardware
#1
I took a standard vaio vgn-nr110e and did some hardware mods and would like to unlock the bios now in order to have full control.
Original specs:
Intel T2310
1gb ddr2 533mhz
Atheros ABG network card (crappy)

New Specs:
Intel T9300
3gb ddr2 800mhz
Intel 6235 WLAN

The chipset is a GL960 and should be able to support the 800 FSB without any problems. My memory is CL 6 however it doesnt register that way. Lavalys register all parts as correct and functioning.

Thank You in advance.

Sorry, the current bios version is r0131j9.

The link to the bios page along with all Sony specs is listed below:
http://esupport.sony.com/US/p/model-home...=VGNNR110E&LOC=3#/downloadTab

The direct download link for the latest bios is listed below:
http://s02.download.sony.com/US/pc/PHBSY...500-US.EXE

The current bios is so minimal its almost pointless aside from boot preferences and im use to full control bios where i can do whatever id like.

-In advance your response is greatly appreciated, i need to learn how to do this on my own now.

hi bros from the forum.

i have a vaio vgn-nr110e too and i ahve some doubts.

i upgraded the processor from:
intel dual core to Intel Core 2 Duo T5800 2Ghz

and the ram from 1 gb to 3gb.

then i went from win7 32 bits to win 7 64 bits, why?

because i want 4 gb of ram, the problem is that with 4gb the laptop
cannot boot, when it's loading the system it shows me a blue screen for less than a a second and then reboot over and over again

my question now is, can this computer be upgraded to a 4gb ram with a
64 bits system?
