Sorry for the double reply,

However the powers that be do not want me to update my BIOS, lenovo's BIOS updater utility is garbage and crashes on me every time I run it. Even downloaded multiple times to make sure its good, I dont have UAC turned on so admin privileges are not an issue.

Either way ill skip updating.
If you could just mod my current (5FCN91WW) BIOS I would be very grateful.

Thanks.

May be You have a RAM checksum issue (your RAM is not working well) as when
RAM Modules are broken CPU write file with wrong checksum and the content is
garbage.
It's better to check them before do a Bios reflash !
You Bios Mod is here, follow instructions to flash from USB Dos :

Hi,

The Z580 has a pretty bad wifi card so I decided to upgrade to the Intel 7260 AC with 5Ghz. However, it is not one of the cards that is in the whitelist. Could someone please post a bios with the whitelist removed?

My current bios version is 5FCN95WW.
My backup bios can be found here https://www.sendspace.com/file/2lm200

Let me know if I have missed anything.
Many thanks

Hi My bios backup is here: http://saab.demon.co.uk/biosbck.bin

Please remove the whitelist.

I would really like just a vanilla bios so there were no restrictions on RAM or other Lenovo stuff if that would be possible. If not the whitelist removal would be great so I can upgrade my wifi card.

Many thanks

Dave

Hi, the file is hosted on my own linux based server, When I downloaded the file from the link you posted I had virus scan issues with it.

Can you not use the backup from my host?

Many thanks
