Hi BDMaster,

I downloaded the .RAR file and used PeaZip to extract it, the file needed named in the download is called modified, contains: D830_A16_SLIC.HDR, the problem I have is Windows 7 Pro wont open the .HDR file to mod the BIOs, it seems to be some kind of photo file extension.? Any ideas how it could be opened to run the mod or is there a problem with this file?

Thanks for any help.

You have to run the .exe file executable !!!
Run It as Admin like You do using normal update !

Thanks for the help but for what ever reason I cant get it to work. Seems different then other mods I have used they have had the original, and then the modified file that would look the same like the original file a .exe type file both dell looking type files one usually called DXXX_A16.exe the other file call DXXX_A16_Slic.exe with included file Xrml Didital License (XRM-MS).

What I'm getting is a 3 folders one folder named Modified, one folder named Original, one file named Dell.

The folder named original has the normal looking Dell blue D830_A16 EXE type file in it. (dells Bios A16).
The file called Dell is the Digital License.
But the folder named Modified has in it two files, D830_A16_SLIC.HDR and a file called D830A16.exe,.
Cant do anything with the D830_A16_SLIC.HDR file it wont open with windows, but the D830A16.EXE file will open a folder that has files that look like a Bios update or mod files but on its own it doesn't do any thing. Within this folder it does have a file called D830A16.EXE when ran as Admin it reboots the computer but doesn't activate windows or it doesn't run the usually Dell looking utility for updating the bios just reboots the computer.

Yes I know, kind of complicated but that's the story.
I guess I'm not that much of a Computer Geek after all.

Hi BDMaster,
Thanks for all the hard work, unfortunately though it looks good but still having a problem. When ran as Administrator instead of the usually dell utility opening like with the original Bios this wont open but has a error message
( An unexpected error occurred while running the Flash application. Please reboot and try again. If the error continues, please contact technical help. Application Error Return: Ox00000509 ) Tested on 2 other Laptops just to see if it would open as for as the utility and it gives the same error message on all.
