[REQUEST] Lenovo Yoga 2 13 (96CNxxWW) BIOS Unlock
#11
Hello! Wow, you'r dahm fast ;-) THANKS!

I can understand that i need a HW SPI Programmer - just to be sure. You mean that i need to purchase a device like: http://www.ebay.com/itm/USB-MiniPro-TL86...1092473435 ?

Just to be sure again: I won't be able to use your mod, without the HW SPI Programmer, or what?

I'm new in this world (i did try a lot of other flash-stuff in my life, but not BIOS), and it's hard to find good informations about this.

Small update: I did find a small guide here: https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-T...ware-Flash

Small update2: I did find a Change.org site, and just to share it here in my post, it's right here: https://www.change.org/p/lenovo-release-...-the-bios/ - I can see that it was on the frontpage someday.

Hi friend,
I sugested to buy an SPIPGM to rewrite your Bios Mod directly into Eeprom
as I haven't any tool to do for Error 280 !

Look here :

https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-R...programmer

https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-R...5#pid74575

There are many Others . . .
Let me know

Hello again,

Thanks for the fast respons :-)

I did some more research, after looking up the links.

After reading a bit more, i find some items on eBay.

Will i be able to flash the BIOS chip with these tools:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1pcs-CH341A-prog...1477280275
http://www.ebay.com/itm/SOIC8-SOP8-Flash...1727243096

Or do i need other stuff? I did lookup the datasheet for the mobo but it's pretty hard to find.

Is this the BIOS-chip? http://i.imgur.com/aYVT8m0.jpg
After reading the ofter topics, it sounds like the cFeon QH64-104HIP is the chip :-)

(It looks like the guy from https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-R...5#pid74575 is working with almost the same chip)

The SPIPGM is a 25 SPI so It would be right as on Lenovo Yoga 2 13 I found :

W25Q64BV Winbond  and as your 8192 KB

EN25QH64  EON or Feon or CFeon 8192 KB

It is near the ENE Chipset !

Which one You showed can be as It is 0H64 = 64 MBts = 8192 KB !

http://www.myfixguide.com/manual/lenovo-...sassembly/

So I think It can be about all your assertions true !
Regards

So i order some items from eBay...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/281507545064
http://www.ebay.com/itm/221581122902

Hopefully they will be okay for the flashing. If i need a extra chip, should i just search for a EN25QH64 chip, or?

(Hopefully you can confirm it for me Big Grin)

Again, i really appreciate your support!

and.. btw:

Did you just remove the whitelist (validation) function, or what? :-) it would be nice to hear, what you actually did.

So, now i did have the stuff, and i did flash the BIOS, using my mind and https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-R...5#pid74575

But, sadly - now my laptop won't turn on.

Then i give it power and press the power button, i only see the light from the keyboard for a few seconds. After that, it turn off again. I also did try the small "Safe boot" button from Lenovo.

Do you have any suggestions - Is there a error in your mod, or something :-)?

Waiting for your reply, and again - thanks for your support!:-)

Update1: After flashing back the backup, the laptop turns on again. So... it looks like something isn't like it should with the mod. Will you give it a try?

If you want, i can give you my backup.
http://rghost.net/private/60549033/bb767...840d70891a
- The k ey password is "yogadenmar*" (ask to me in PM the complete pwd)

Update2:
I just flashed the BIOS-chip again, just to be sure nothing went wrong the first time - But, the same thing is going on:
Power On -> Light in keyboard for a second -> Turn off again.

I flashed the BIOS-chip with the backup again after, and everything is running smooth again (But.. Back to start, with whitelist)

ATTENTION | BEFORE YOU START - REMEBER TO BACKUP THE CHIP (Read) and check if the dump is valid (Verify). Also keep it a place, where you can find it again!

So after some time, i got what i needed for my laptop - And... The right file (I misunderstod BDMaster at the first time).

Now everything works!

Computer Model: Lenovo Yoga 2 13"
BIOS: InsydeH2O 96CN17WW

If anyone could help me modify my bios and help me remove the whitelist, as well as unhide all of the bios menu options, that would be great, I've never done this before. My wifi card (the laptop is barely even 2 years old) suddenly quit on me, so I bought a new one that seemed compatible only to learn Lenovo has a whitelist on the hardware.

I got as far as finding the area's in which the BIOS locks with the "Unauthorized Wireless Adapter" message, but from there on I have no idea which data values to change.

Both my BIOS backup.rar and the BIOS rom are in this zip here. I also included the decompressed files that need to be changes in the specified folders, maybe it'll save you some time searching for them. I haven't touched any of the data inside them, I just decompressed them and moved them into the folder.

Thanks for the help

PS- I tried searching the other threads but all of the links posted to give any patches or anything where all broken. If you need any more stuff or info let me know.
