Gateway DX4831-01e BIOS Failed

i flashed the new bios that you guys made for me and thanks


but now im in troublee

i tried going back to the stock bios taht i uploaded and it didnt work now it wont boot! i need help fixing this what do i do?

please follow our step by step recovery instructions in the tutorials section Smile

If this fails , please check your motherboard to see if the bios chip is in a socket (therefore removable). If it is , peel off all stickers and post the string of numbers on the chip and we may possibly be able to reflash it or find you a new chip!

iit dosent show anything on the screen at all no matter what

it beeps once every 10 minutes though

and right after i get done flashing it (blindly)

it beeps 4 sets of 2 beeps

like

beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep

and if i turn the power off it comes back on ita own

The BIOS looks completely soldered in; and for this computer, plugging in an i7 causes it to beep 1-2; 1 long 2 shorts.

Is there a place in the unlocked BIOS to change CPU support? It looks like the motherboards supports i7; but it definitely doesn't POST.

How does Gateway lock i7 out?

Probably removing the microcode from the BIOS so the POST test doesnt identify the CPU. TheWiz could possibly reinsert micrcode , as thats his own special area which he is very knowledgable in Big Grin

that woul;d be amazing actually i didnt change the cpu but im startign to think that it dosent recognise the i3 thats in there

basically what i want to do is flash my Gareway FROM my HP G60-445DX Laptopo

how do i do this

i already tried the AMIBOOt.ROM at least 40 times

the BIOS are Solder'd

and i DONT have the money to buy a new Motherboard or even get a PC Tech to flash them for me

and im sure that the warranty is void becausde i flashed unofficial BIOS

what can i do?

i know the ios died like 6 months ago but my laptop just died too (harddrive)

and once again i dont have any extra money to buy another hdd

i would love to know the Motherboard Manufacturer and Model Number

itws hard to find that info

Please use http://dl.dropbox.com/u/747181/Universal...Backup.EXE to generate a backup of your bios as i cant find a download link on gateways site to onwe for your model
