[REQUEST] Lenovo Yoga 2 13 (96CNxxWW) WWAN Whitelist Removal

Hi There,

I'm using a relatively new Yoga 2 13 with the Insyde H20 96CN17WW (V1.03) bios. The whitelist won't accept an Intel AC 7260 network card. Hoping someone here can unlock it for me. Here's a link to my bios backup file:

I want to start a New Way to pass Mods to users :

AutoMod

Using CodeRush Tool UEFIPatch + Patches.txt We can do the Mod by ourself, in any time and wherever We are !!!

Just use the right Patches.txt for the own Bios Version, so for 96CN17WW use this one !!!

How to use ? It's easy, just do a biosbackup.bin file and drag&drop on UEFIPatch.exe (the Patches.txt file has to be togheter at tool) It will reply with a file patched, then rename that file as bios.bin, put It into modified folder where are all rest tools to re-flash Bios Mod and copy all files from modified folder to an USB Dos Formatted Bootable Stick and Boot from USB !
Then at CLI Prompt Comand run flash.bat That's It all !

P.S. Get a Bios Backup, then check the size, It would be 6144 KB rename It as biosbackup.bin and follow instructions . . .

Hi!!!! two questions:
1. How did this workout for the users requesting the mod? Did the Yoga 2 13 finally accept the new intel wifi card?
2. Is it possible to downgrade from BIOS? I have bios 96CN25WW??

I also use this bios, and i want to update net cart to AC 7260.

But when i want to update bios with your modified BIOS file, I got a error message.
Error 280: Failed to disable write protection for the BIOS space!

BTW: I have enable bios downgrade.

So I will explain many times Downgrading to a previous Bios Version te Eeprom Chip
can became writable and the Bios Mod can be flashed, but if You downgrade and
error 280 is Always present then only an HW SPI Programmer can do the job !

sorry , I don't downgrade bios. I just update bios from 96CN25WW v.11 to 96CN29WW V.1.15.

In the first time, I try to flash your modified bios , but got error 280.

I check the bios version, it less your mod file. so I try to download the latest bios version(v1.15) and update bios. I found with leveno bios update tool can update bios in windows 8.

When i finish update bios. I go back again to your bios mod files.But still got error 280.

I turn on enable bios downgrade , because I think may is something about write protection.

I check the unzip file in temp dirctory .such as C:\Users\lin\AppData\Local\Temp\7zSB106.tmp

I found H2OFFT-W.exe can flash Rom file to bios.


Can I edit rom file to remove whitlist,and use H2OFFT-W to update bios.

But I do another test. I found old bios link, 96CN25WW v.11.

and I upgrade to 96CN29WW 1.15. It is ok.

And I try to find another bios version,such as 1.09.
I found this version can support lenovo oem ac 7260 netcard from this thread.

I guest bios file name is zivy0109x32x64.exe,But get no file.

May be I should try another way.

Have You tied to Downgrade to 1.11 version andthen try to flash Bios Mod ?
Many times Downgrading the Protection is made down !

My previous bios version is 1.11, I have try it before, but got error 280.
I cann't find more older bios version from lenovo tech support website.
I think the only official released BIOS can support downgrade.
