Fujitsu Lifebook U757 CPU swap i7-7500u->i3-6006u due to faulty CPU
#1
Dear Forum Members!

I have a Fujitsu Lifebook U757 notebook that had a shorted CPU due to cooling issues. Originally it had an i7-7500u processor. The laptop is laying around for a while because the i7 processor is way too expensive, it is not worth it. Recently i got 2 other laptops (acer, lenovo) that had quite strong water damages, but posted into bios. These laptops had  an i3-6006U processors. Because it is the same socket as the Fujitsu laptop, and the Fujitsu originally came with 6th and 7th gen processors from the factory, i tought maybe it will work if i replace it.

So i desoldered one of the i3-6006u processor, reballed and soldered back to the Fujitsu one. I even replaced the bios chip content with the one that i found on the internet that is suitable for the 6th gen variant motherboard.

Unfortunately the laptop is not posting, just the numlock, capslock and the scroll lock buttons are flashing.
I even tried with the other i3-6006u processor that laying around just to be sure, but the problem is the same.

Can someone help me with the situation? Is it even possible to make it to work? I can pay it if someone could help me with.

I attach the original bios dump and the one that i found on the internet.

Thank you,
Csongor

p.s: sorry for my english, i hope you understand what i wrote.

I need BIOS backup from the donor laptop - exactly from the one from which you removed this i3-6006U.

It's not BIOS problem.

It seems one of the CPU voltages are missing, so this board is more messed up than i thought. Unfortunately there are no boardview or schematic available for this motherboard Sad
Thank you for your help anyway.
Have a good day!
