$250 BOUNTY: Intel Compute Stick BIOS mod needed
1.8V adapter always needed, since the BIOS chip is 1.8v. Images both look correct, just be sure pin 1 and it's cable from adapter goes to pin on the BIOS chip.

OK, and I tried to match pin 1 from the top down on that stack.

The CH341A has a ZIF socket where the lower half is for SPI chips so I plugged the 1.8v adapter into the lower half.

?? You had it correct before, already... If you moved anything, then it's wrong. I simply meant make sure pin1/cable coming out of the 1.8V adapter went down to pin1 on the BIOS chip. You already had it all setup correctly in the images you showed.

The middle of the CH341A is where the adapter or BIOS chips, or SPI cables go, for motherboard BIOS. Pin1 on adapter is on lever side, but you need to use the middle socket area (As you originally did on page 12 images)

I really like the idea of this, but I'm concerned that if CSM support is present but disabled, or CSM support can be added without much difficulty, the use of an eMMC would be another major barrier. The oldest Microsoft OS that I'm aware of with eMMC support is Windows 7 when used with drivers from Intel meant for embedded systems. Nothing older than that is going to be able to boot from the eMMC unless the stick's BIOS is modified to present the eMMC as a "native IDE" device (does any original or modified BIOS for any hardware do this yet?) or drivers are created for every old OS.

I hope that I'm wrong and there is a fairly practical solution that someone will find eventually. Smile

Not ssybesma but I have a CH341A and a STCK1A8LFC.

Opened it up, pulled the rom off it.

If you're able to mod it, I can flash it and see.

Attached.

Yep. Definitely more options.
Scroll bar appeared.

I believe the new ones are:
Power Limit Time (Tau)
Intel dynamic power tech.
IGD minimum memory
Aperture size
USB boot?
Boot usb devices first?
Bios setup auto entry
fast boot
user access level

Or there abouts.

That's great ~~
Could you capture screenshots that contain all of tabs to me ?? thanks~~

Does item "Bluetooth Configuration' appear in Configuration tab??
Item "Suppress Alert Messages At Boot" should be unlocked on Boot Display's sub menu

You can try disable option "UEFI Boot" and "Secure Boot' ,then set up "Select Operating System" to Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64-bit to test install Ubuntu OS as typical boot.
