First of all here are my computer specs:
Dell Inspiron 620
Windows 7 64 Bit Home Premium
ATI Radeon 5570 1GB Graphics
6 GB Ram
Aptio AMI Bios

Here is the download to the bios update!
http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/e...Code=False

P.S: Im a noob at bios and I need to unlock the AHCI/IDE Selection in the bios because I am trying to do a hackintosh and its necessary to have ahci....... I think my computer is default to ide! :/
So please mod my bios to make it have that option!

Hello now AHCI is default value, you dont see the option but i changed the default ide to ahci.

Try at your own risk, post result.

Thank you man! As a noob, how do I install this? xD I hope this won't brick my computer, I'll try it later...how big of a risk is it? Also I prefer if you enable the option of AHCI/IDE switching back and forth in my bios because I already installed my computer OS in ide ( i think ) so I can switch back and forth with my hackintosh.... Thanks anyways! Please reply and I will try this soon! Big Grin

OK, i edit the rom now you can set ide or ahci in advanced tab - sata, i modify the access to "user".

http://www.sendspace.com/file/h4w2w5

use this tool from the dell support:

http://www.sendspace.com/file/pd9rjf

follows this steps:

Quote:How to update the BIOS under Windows:
1). Copy the "BIOS-[censored].ROM" to the folder "WIN".
2). Copy all the files under the folder "WIN" to a USB key.
3). Boot system to Windows and plug the USB key.
4). Run the CMD.EXE with adminitrator and go to the USB key.
5). Type "flash.bat" in CMD console to update BIOS.
