AM3 Board to become AM3+ ready
#1
Exclamation
Hello guys,

I have an Asrock 890FX Deluxe3 Mainboard, with AMI Non UEFI Bios.
It recived an update to add support for AM3+ CPUs, thats fine.

But I also have two more boards, with 790GX Chipset and good equipment, but the manufacruter did not brought any updates at all.
Because it is the same bios type (I Checked), and the 890FX got an update, I thought of extracting the microcode with UBU Tool, and try to insert it into the 790GX Boards with MMTool, but (i think) because the patch file is slightly larger than the stock ones, it refused to use the patch file of the FX Generation at all. "Not an propper patch file".

Any Idea how to gain am3+ support anyway? Could I add the whole modules maybe? Or bypass the size check?

Adding microcode doesn't add support for new CPU.
Find other motherboard based on the same chipset but with AM3+ CPUs support.

Find other motherboard based on the same chipset but with AM3+ CPUs support.

https://www.gigabyte.com/de/Motherboard/...upport-cpu

That one for example.
The Bios File is in the attatchment.

Read carefully. It hasn't support for AM3+ CPUs. N/A = Not support
