AMI BIOS 7.15 for HP Elite 7200 MT - I need to access locked advanced features
#1
Hello

I have HP Elite 7200 MT, Intel core i7 2600 3.4MHz, * GB DDR3 RAM (4 x 2GB), Samsung SSD 850 Pro 1TB, Cougar 1050 watts Gold certified.
Motherboard Pegatron 2AB6 version 1.04
BIOS is AMI 7.15 (latest from HP drivers)
Everything works fine and the on board intel graphic is also working fine.

The problem comes when I attach a ASUS GTX 770 graphics card on my PCIe X16 slot and then when I boot my PC with DVI cable in external graphic card I just see HP splash screen which says press esc to enter setup. If I press esc immediately then i see another black screen with my system info like processor, RAM etc but it hangs there and does not go into BIOS. If I dont press esc immediately  it freezes on the HP splash screen.

I cannot access the advanced features on my bios to change display adaptor to pci, or to disable on board graphic. I cannot see any option to change my bios to UEFI or Legacy or whatever

If I attach the card and connect the cable on the onboard intel graphic card i hear 6 long beeps and no display.

Here are some things which I know for sure:
  1. my PCI slot is 2.0 which is compatible with GTX 770.
  2. My GTX 770 card is absolutely fine, it is working on my friends PC
  3. My PCI slot is also fine as I tried to fool my PC by starting with on board card and then attached the GTX 770 while my windows was up and running. naturally at this point nothing happened, no error or system failure. So I went to device manager and uninstalled all my 8 PCI slots and then running scan hardware changes it recognised the card and installed the correct drivers for GTX 770. So this also shows that the card is working working. But ofcourse even after this point it requests to restart the PC for hard ware change and at restart, i have the same problem as mentioned above.
  4. I have already updated the VBIOS on my GTX770 through my friend's PC
  5. All RAM modules are working and i have already tried removing RAMS and trying with different combinations of RAMS installed..
  6. Since my PC is running super fine without GTX770, I do not see any reason to touch the Processor.
Now I have narrowed it down to BIOS which is just not supporting the card, and I cannot access the advanced features to try different settings, only very basic options are there to play with.

Is there anyway to unlock my full BIOS? or is there anyway to flash a better modded BIOS to achieve the full potential of my PC?

I am very new no BIOS flashing, infact never did it on desktop PC. But I would still wanna try as I am a very curious person.

Best regards

Hi.
I've the same problem with HP Pavilion Elite HPE-520it. It has the same mainboard
The mainboard is Cleveland-GL8 (http://h20565.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?calledBy=&docId=emr_na-c02668523-6&docLocale=)
I tried to modify the last BIOS to unlock options, but seems that the BIOS is encrypted.
The link is there: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55501-56000/sp55548.exe

Thanks

Maybe there is way to flash a modded BIOS. I hope there is.
