ASUS RAMPAGE III EXTREME BIOS - V1601 - Updated OROM MOD

I have flash the S22i. Now i have no problems with the DriveXpert view and Network PXE. The only Thing is, if i enable Intel Raid then my OCZ RevoDrive 3 Bios will not boot and i cant use my RevoDrive 3.

I think this is a OROM Problem. Am i right??

You might be right.  When I used my RevoDrive 3 with this board, I had my Intel in AHCI.

Please confirm you CAN boot from RevoDrive with Intel set to AHCI mode.

I can work up some test versions if you are willing to do the testing for me.

Does anyone have the original untouched 1601 beta bios for the R3E for me to tear into?  Hopefully there is a newer and working firmware in that version.  I doubt it as ASUS said they only adjusted memory compatibility.  Just tyring to be thorough.

If anyone has 1601 untouched, please attach it to a post or a link to it.  Thank you.

Been searching the internet for R3E Beta BIOS 1601 but couldn't find anything. I'm sure that I had found it when googling a few years ago. Weird...

There is a post with a mention to 1601 from SkOrPn in page 6 of this thread (post #51), but no idea whether it is untouched or not.

I have confirmed that post has arleady been updated to Marvell FW v2.2.0.1125.  (not untouched)

You might be right.  When I used my RevoDrive 3 with this board, I had my Intel in AHCI.

OK, first test would be with the OEM BIOS v.1502.
Please flash that bios from ASUS site and check bootability to RevoDrive3 with Intel set to RAID mode.
Depending on results there will define what test versions to build for you.

Hi pir8man,

i have downgrade to the original BIOS 1502 and turn Intel Raid on and boot again. It is the same issue. The BIOS from my OCZ will not load and in the Mainboard BIOS i cant see the RevoveDrive as posible Harddisk. If i switch to AHCI then i can see it as HardDisk and selelct it as frist boot drive.

The Intel Raid Rom has no Int13 ! Boot Order is going to Intel Raid Rom and end there. All Devices behind the Raid Rom not boot. You must set to Intel AHCI. There is no Bug in the Bios Mods!

Hmm, I've flashed your latest S22 bios and now I have an error during booting: Not enough space to copy PCI option ROM
It works fine, but a bit strange to have it now, cos there was no such error on s20.
Is it ok or how can I fix it?

Well, the error message sounds like you ran out of BIOS memory space.  try disabling one of the add-on hardwares that you are NOT using currently.  I personally always had the Jmicron SATA controller disabled in my useage.  This free'd up enough memory for the NIC/Intel SATA/Marvell SATA OROMs to fit in the limited memory space.

If that does not help, we need more details to assist further.

I have raid0 (2 hdd*1TB) on intel controller and Samsung 860 Pros ssd on Jmicron, so I can not disable it.
On other hand, I had already disabled Intel Vt-d and onboard 1394 controller and due to overclocking almost all "green techs".
Of course usb 3 and usb 2 controllers are enabled. Would you be so kind to tell me, what else can I disable or what info do you need from me to assist further?
